Danger bells seem to be ringing in Telangana due to spread of Coronavirus in the state. In a single day on Friday, two fresh deaths and 75 new positive cases were reported in the state.
“The total number of deaths in Telangana went up to 11 and the total number of positive cases till date to 229. Out of these, 32 people were discharged till now, including 15 persons since morning. So, the actual number of Coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in the hospitals is 186,” a bulletin from the medical and health department said.
The two deaths reported were one each from Shadnagar in Mahabubnagar district and from Secunderabad. It is not clear whether the two fresh deaths and 75 new positive cases had any links with the Nizamuddin meeting.
The department also claimed that all the 1030 people who had been identified to have attended the meeting of Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin had been traced.
“All the participants and their family members and contacts have been kept in isolation and are being tested for Coronavirus,” the health bulletin said.
