Rahul Gandhi counters PM; says India nowhere in the game

Delay in the purchase of testing kits for Covid-19 has been a major concern for the country says Rahul Gandhi in his social media. Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech of extending the lock down, Rahul Gandhi questioned the government’s tactics of low testing. India is critically short of the testing kits. The only way to fight this pandemic is excessive testing. But per million Indian only 149 tests are being conducted which is less than the least developed countries like Laos(157), Niger(182) and Honduras (162).

With this low testing India is nowhere in the game to fight this pandemic says Rahul Gandhi. Earlier this day Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced lock down extension until May 3rd and asked the citizens to continue their fight against the covid-19 by staying indoors.

He has also given 7 lock down tips for his fellow citizens. Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari who addressed the media has said that though we support lock down extension there are several concerns. He criticized that PM has never spoken about Immigrant labours, harvesting rabi crops, availability of testing kits etc.,
