In a setback to hero Prabhas, the High Court of Telangana today quashed the Kukatpally trial court’s 2018 order which allowed him temporary possession of the 2,083 sq yd land located in Raidurg, Serilingampally in Ranga Reddy district. The High Court has found fault with the interim order issued by the trial court.
Back in 2018, the Telangana government’s revenue officials had seized the land and moved the Kukatpally trial court, claiming that it owns the land which Prabhas claimed to have purchased several years ago. The actor even registered a sale deed for the same. In his appeal to the trial court, Prabhas said that the government had even accepted his application in 2014 under a land regularisation scheme.
The trial court then issued an interim injunction in favour of Prabhas, giving him possession of the farm house land till April 3rd, 2020. But the interim order was extended till June last week due to the lockdown. This prompted the revenue officials to move the High Court.
The High Court’s bench has observed that the trial court’s order was a mistake and that Prabhas should not have the possession of the property. However, the bench has also directed the revenue authorities not to demolish the building constructed in the plot.
The case has been redirected to the trial court as the High Court has asked it to vacate the government’s application and immediately dispose the case checking its merit.
