YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be keen on resuming normal work in almost all parts of the state, barring Red Zones, in the wake of the Central government announcing huge relaxations in green and orange zones.
Starting from Monday, the Jagan government is likely to restore normalcy in most parts of the state except Kurnool, Guntur, Krishna, Chittoor and Nellore districts, which are declared as Red Zones.
Though Vizianagaram is the only district in the green zone and the remaining in orange zone, the government is planning to give relaxations in all the eight districts in a big way.
It is learnt while the Centre has announced districts as a unit to categorise them into red, orange and green zones, the Jagan government is planning to take mandal as a unit to decide the zones.
As such, only 56 mandals, which have four or more Coronavirus positive cases fall under Red Zone. Another 47 mandals with less than four cases are in orange zone and the remaining 573 mandals are in green zone.
If Jagan government goes ahead with mandal-wise zonal system, then normal activity will start in 573 mandals and partial activity in 47 mandals, barring in the containment zones.
The Jagan government is hopeful that by May end, all the red zones would also come under green or orange zones, so that the entire state can restart its normal activity.
On Saturday, Jagan instructed that Rythu Bharosa centres should be started all over the state on May 30 and in the meantime, marketing system should be strengthened.
He also directed that state-level, district-level and mandal-level agriculture advisory boards be appointed.
On June 6, the chief minster wants to launch Matsyakara Bharosa (Fishermen scheme). So, one by one, all the activities would be resumed on a normal scale.
If everything goes well, he might even announce shifting of capital to Viskhapatnam by May end!
