Survey: Parents NOT READY to send kids to the schools?

The COVID-19 is spreading at an uncontrollable rate in India. The sub-continent made it a habit to break its own records daily and yesterday alone, above 9,000 were registered from all parts of the country. Due to this pandemic, the studies of the school children were taken a toll the online classes aren’t getting any better out of them.

Many states are planning to open the schools from July or August with certain precautions. Already many countries opened the schools with some measures after their governments gave crucial exemptions from the lockdown. But, all those countries have registered a higher number of cases thereafter and the parents of those countries are very feared to send their kids to school.

In India also, majority of the parents are being afraid of sending their kids to school, according to a survey. Even though some schools guarantee the parents of social distancing, the parents prefer to continue the studies of their children through virtual classes, popularly know as online classes.

A voluntary organization named Local Circles conducted a survey in 224 districts and 37% of parents participated in it. In this 21-day survey, some parents opined that the schools should reopen only after the COVID-19 threat goes away completely. Some are good with the re-opening of the schools but only after three weeks since no new case registered in their town.

A few parents say that they won’t send their children to school until the vaccine gets released in the market. So, collectively, the biggest concern of the parents is that no school can make sure that the children can follow physical distancing in such a crowded place. For example, 70 students were infected with the virus in France after the schools were reopened and in Israel, 220 students were infected after two weeks from the reopening of the schools.
