Telangana Govt May Again Tighten Lockdown Rules

HYDERABAD: Telangana government headed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is scheduled to hold a key meeting on Monday, June 8 at 4.30 pm in Pragathi Bhavan. CM KCR to discuss with the officials over the strategy to be followed across the state in the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases, and measures to be taken to control the virus spread in GHMC limits, including the implementation of lockdown across the state. Telangana might again tighten lockdown rules, at least in the GHMC area beyond the national Lockdown 3.0 which will be ending on May 17.

Chief Minister along with state officials likely to reconsider some of the relaxations which were permitted across the state. Telangana Govt may tighten the lockdown restrictions again in view of increasing cases in the state on a daily basis. Earlier the central and state governments have already announced that they will be allowing people to places of worship and religious places, mainly malls, from Monday, which becomes a cause for concern among so many people, as it will further increase the chances of spreading the COVID-19.

So may people appealing to the state government on social media to rethink over the matter. Some senior officials have also expressed their concern that hospitals and medical facilities are inadequate to treat patients in the state as the number of cases will be increased drastically if relaxations were permitted to places of worship and shopping malls.

Chief Minister to make key decisions by reviewing all these issues in today’s meeting. This review will be attended by the Minister of Health, Etela Rajender and other senior officials.
