Amid the distraught in public due to rising Covid-19 cases in Telangana, Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan directly held a conference with hospitals about the pathetic state recently.
She addressed that she is discontent with the state’s response in handling the covid unit beds, mistreatment and exorbitant charges. The governor questioned the medical health officials, former DGP and other concerned representatives about delay in action of plan, which actually irked K Chandrashekar Rao government recently, according to the reports.
Of late, after accusations of patients being unfairly overcharged was noticed, Soundararajan, a gynaecologist herself invited a brainstorming session with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Special Chief Secretary (Health) Shanti Kumari at Raj Bhavan on Monday, but they skipped.
The state health department and some hospital management officials were also not happy about her visit to different hospitals in the crucial decision making time, as it would effect their relationship and positions.
“Not just us, many believe that the gap between Raj Bhavan and TRS government is widening and said they didn’t want to rub on the wrong side of the government”, one of the hospital official said.
Dr. Tamilisai collected the patients’ data including hospital and directed her subordinates to follow up on the cases rather than forwarding the issue to government officials. Today, the governor had visited the Nizam’s Institute and had to face an unwelcoming move from senior doctors as they remained aloof.
