Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy stated that his administration is showing transparency in Covid-19 cases in the state. He said the government is neither showing less nor hiding the Covid cases in the state and said it is reporting the actual numbers.
He reiterated that AP is the first state in the country which has done the highest number of Covid tests. He said AP stands first in the country by conducting over 50,000 Covid tests on a daily basis.
He added that the state is doing 31,000 tests per every million and setting a new example. CM said 90 percent of these Covid tests are being done in the Covid cluster zones.
CM Jagan has conducted a high-level review meeting with district collectors and SPs. He appreciated the officials for working hard in these critical times. He reiterated that Covid will come and go, but people has to survive with it.
He noted that out of 1 lakh Covid cases recorded in the state, more than half have been recovered. CM Jagan said that the death rate due to Covid in the country is 2.5 percent whereas the dead rate in AP is 1.06 percent. CM Jagan said about 85 percent have been recovered through self isolation and home quarantine.
CM Jagan made some recommendations to the officials. “Increase the awareness on Covid and the precautions need to be taken and the treatment. Ensure that the awareness posters are displayed at all the Grama Sachivalayam and Ward Sachivalayam offices. Thorough monitoring of the functioning of the call centers. Doctors supervision to the home-quarantined Covid patients. Regular visit of doctors to their homes and ensure whether they’re getting medicines on time or not. Optimal use of the 80,000 beds reserved for Covid treatment.”
