Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has always made it a point to stand against any sort of atrocity taking place in both the states and has always supported the people of the states. He has not backed down in voicing his opinion on any occasion and has once again done that today, in an open statement against the YSRCP government’s negligence is making sure that the women of the state are safe.
Pawan noted that the government is busy hailing its Disha act, through which it vowed to serve justice to all the women of the state; when in reality, it is not doing a single thing to actually make sure that the women are safe in actuality.
The statement noted the very recent cases of atrocities against women, and the lack of action against the perpetrators of those crimes. It also highlighted that these offenses are being done to only tribal women, and that it is very sad to see that a state whose Home Minister is a woman belonging to the tribal community has to go through things like this.
The statement highlighted the killing of Ramavath Manthrubai of Sivapuram Thanda, where a money-lender belonging to the governing party crushed her to death by a tractor. This was because her family refused to give him their forest land, which they use for cultivation.
The case of a woman who worked at the construction of a culvert on a rivulet, surrounding the limits of Velugodu police station has also been mentioned in the statement. Pawan questioned the use of introducing laws for women’s safety, when they were not being put to use for ensuring the safety of women. He questioned why the police haven’t taken any action against the people who raped the woman, even after the victim herself gave a statement of the events, stating that the atrocity took place right in front of her husband’s eyes.
The government should indeed question itself, and see if it is actually helping anyone but itself, and if it is really committed to protecting women, irrespective of what laws it has introduced or not introduced for them.
Except campaigning for laws, where is safety for women’s life and modesty? – JanaSena Chief Sri @PawanKalyan pic.twitter.com/ZTIZejBBcf
