Former TDP legislator Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, from Yalamanchili assembly constituency in Visakhapatnam, is all set to join the YSRC party on Friday.
He would wear the YSRC party shawl at Tadepalli in the presence of party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Ramesh Babu, who had resigned from the TDP a few months ago in protest against the decision of TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu opposing the shifting of executive capital of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.
Since then, Ramesh Babu had been staying away from political activities. However, after intense lobbying with the ruling YSRC party, he finally got the green signal from Jagan Mohan Reddy, sources said.
Meanwhile, the suspense continues over the defection of former minister and senior TDP legislator from Visakhapatnam (north) Ganta Srinivas Rao into the YSRC.
Though there were leaks to the media that he had got the green signal from Jagan to join the YSRC, so far, no such indication has come from the party.
Ganta has been staying away from the TDP activities for quite some time and there were reports that his entry into the YSRC was almost confirmed.
In fact, his bitter rival and tourism minister Avanti Srinivas has openly indicated that Ganta was almost into the YSRC.
It remains to be seen whether Ganta will succeed in getting the nod from Jagan or he will be forced to stay back in the TDP.
