Tourism minister Avanti Srinivas threw down the gauntlet to TDP asking all the party legislators in Vizag to quit their posts, if they were against the proposal of setting up Executive Capital in Vizag.
In the wake of the TDP leaders demanding that the YCP MLAs of constituencies in the Capital Region should resign for not being able to thwart the shifting of Capital from Amaravati to Vizag, Avanti also demanded that the TDP MLAs in Vizag quit their posts for not allowing Vizag to be elevated as the executive capital.
The minister said that the TDP should be thankful to the people in Vizag for giving their party the required numbers to at least remain as the main Opposition in the Assembly. In fact, the TDP should show their gratitude to the people by allowing establishing the executive capital in Vizag, as being planned by YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He said that the TD leaders should not forget that the status of main opposition party in AP was ‘bhiksha’ of Vizagites.
Further, he said that he would resign to his post if the TDP men resigned to their MLA posts.
The minister said that it was unfortunate that the TDP chief was creating hurdles in the improvement drive taken up by the Chief Minister in North Andhra.
