The farmers of Amaravati, whoever gave away their lands for the development of Amaravati as a capital city, have all been taking part in protests against the government’s decision of 3 Capitals, for a long time now. Irrespective of the situations outside – be it the weather or the coronavirus – these farmers haven’t taken rest, and have continued to fight for Amaravati.
With today, these protests have completed 300 days, which had initially begun when CM Jagan had first announced the 3 Capital Bill. TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, Jaya Dev Galla and other TDP members have visited these farmers today, on the occasion of the protests completing 300 days. Speaking to the media in Penumaka, Lokesh said that the government cannot take away Amaravati from the farmers, and also said that not a single blade of grass can be taken away from Amaravati, by the government.
Lokesh also said that it is very sad to see the fact that the government has been the least bit bothered about Amaravati and its farmers, despite over 90 members having died because of their heartlessness. Lokesh also noted that all the demeaning statements that YSRCP members are passing against Amaravati are downright inhumane, and he also noted that despite the YSRCP members’ insensitive statements, all the farmers continue to protest in a peaceful manner.
Lokesh even said that the TDP would be there for the farmers of Amaravati until justice is served to them, and said that he’s sure that the farmers will be served justice. From Penumaka, Lokesh also went to Yerrabalem, and is also scheduled to go to Krishnayyapalem.
