The new doubt in the AP political circles is whether there is negativity to the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy from the people who believe him the most. It is a well-known fact that the clash between the government and the State Election Commission is growing day by day.
Recently, the war of letters between Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and Chief Secretary to the Government Neelam Sahni is intensifying. In this context, the tweet made by former general secretary IYR Krishna Rao is going viral.
Krishna Rao lamented that the Andhra Pradesh government and the Election Commissioner were behaving in a way that could lead to another constitutional crisis. It was clarified that the power to conduct elections is vested in the Commissioner of Elections as per the provisions embodied in the Constitution.
IVR added consulting the state government meant that the decision was not up to the state government. “If the state government interferes when it is so clear in the constitution, it will not be able to stop anything in the court this time,” Krishna Rao concluded. The former chief secretary strongly objected that the actions of the state government were unwise. And yet no one understands why the Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government is taking this issue so far.
Everyone knows that the real controversy started with the grave step of the Nimmagadda. But the government also has a responsibility to put a full stop to the controversy somewhere. Even Jagan’s supporters are unable to speak in support of the government as tensions between the two systems escalate. Would it be good if Jagan or he should’ve reconsidered his stand a long ago?
