Actor-producer Sonu Sood who often plays the villain characters on-screen became a real-life hero by lending a helping hand to the needy during the lockdown period. He has sent many people to their native places by making transport arrangements.
He has arranged vehicles like buses, trains, and even special flights for needy people so that they can reach their native places as everything came to a standstill during the lockdown period.
Despite his great humanitarian work, several people, including the politicians found fault with the work done by Sonu Sood and alleged that he is doing this with political aspirations.
Now it is believed that Sonu Sood allegedly mortgaged eight of his properties in Mumbai to support his work to send the needy to their places. He is said to have raised nearly Rs 10 crore by mortgaging his properties.
His humanitarian work reached a level that Sonu Sood received a flood of requests in Gmails, Facebook Messages, Instagram Messages, and Twitter messages.
For his great humanitarian work, he has been awarded the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award
