Ever since Covid pandemic struck, one is seeing a new Chandrababu Naidu. Gone are the days of intense agitations as an opposition leader. He is not taking part in hugely attended dharnas and protests. What more, he is talking to party workers only through online apps.
Sources in the TDP say that Chandrababu Naidu is extra cautious about Covid and is taking every possible precaution not to come into contact with anyone. So, he has reduced physical meetings and is trying to contact only through the social media. Of late, to highlight issues that he considers are important, Chandrababu is shooting off letters.
It is this new-found habit of writing letters that is turning out to be a problem. These days, he is writing letters to people who are far too below his stature. He wrote a letter to Chittoor police over harassment of the TDP workers by political rivals. Many TDP backers and Chandrababu supporters feel that this is too local an issue and that Chandrababu should not have intervened. But, Chandrababu doesn’t seem to be bothered about all these. He feels that his letters can get him lot of publicity thanks to the pro-TDP media in the state.
But, the party workers feel that he should write letters to CM, CS and DGP only and should desist from writing to district level personalities. They feel that this will lower his dignity. But, Chandrababu Naidu seems to care a damn.
