‘Ramathirtha Dharma Yatra’ was thwarted by the police

The ‘Ramathirtha Dharma Yatra’ led by BJP–Janasena leaders was thwarted by the police.

Police arrested the leaders who were planning to reach Ramatirtha in Vijayanagaram district in protest against the demolition of the idol of Kodandaram.

BJP state president Somu Veeraraju, who was on his way to Ramatirtha, was stopped and arrested by the police.

Later, he was shifted to the Nellimarla police station. On the other hand, Janasena female leader Yasaswini was arrested.

Many other leaders and ministers who were on their way to Ramathirtham were also arrested by the police.

Police said they could not allow them into Ramatirtha as Section 30 was in force. Police were deployed on the way from Visakhapatnam to Vijayanagaram and conducted vehicle inspections.
