Former Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma has been arrested after he tried to stage a protest at the NTR statue in Gollapudi. It is known that the senior TDP leader had challenged Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani last night to stop his hunger strike at NTR’s statue in Gollapudi.
Going into details, minister Kodali Nani on Monday criticized Uma. Outraged by Nani’s comments, the TDP leader announced a protest at the NTR statue on Tuesday morning. However, the police arrested him when he reached the NTR statue this morning.
He was accompanied by TDP party workers and leaders in large numbers. The police detained the TDP leaders, who were reaching the spot and obstructed several others.
Meanwhile, TDP MLC Budha Venkanna has also been house arrested for the same reason. With the arrest former minister, the politics in Vijayawada have heated up and tensions have risen.
