AP TDP Chief Atchannaidu Remanded To 14-Day Custody

Telugu Desam Party AP president and former minister Atchannaidu Kinjarapu was arrested by the police for allegedly threatening a candidate Kinjarapu Appanna and attempting to prevent him from filing nomination for the ongoing elections to panchayats in the state.

Atchannaidu was later produced in the Kotabommali court where the court remanded him for 14 days. He was shifted to Srikakulam District Jail. Before producing him in the court, he was taken to the Kotabommali public health centre to perform the mandatory Covid-19 tests.

TDP leaders and activists gathered in huge numbers and protested against the illegal arrest of their leader. The TDP leader was named as accused no 3 in a poll related incident in Nimmada two days back.

Following the arrest of Atchannaidu, a tense atmosphere prevailed at Nimmada village in Srikakulam district. Along with Atchannaidu, twelve others were also arrested in the above case.
