The decision of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) to strategically disinvest 100 percent of the Indian government’s share in Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd has sent shocking waves across Andhra Pradesh.
Tension gripped shore city Vizag with the Centre’s decision to privatise the Vizag Steel Plant. Several Union bodies have called for protests against the decision.
Amid this, former Union Minister, BJP general secretary Daggubati Purandeswari addressed the media at the conference held at the Visakhapatnam BJP party office on Sunday.
Addressing the media, Purandeswari said, they got to know about this like the media and others after the Centre announced the same. We were not informed about it earlier.
“I will explain the public feeling on the privatisation issue to the Central government and urge the government to not go ahead with the privatisation,” the former Union Minister said.
I have an inseparable bond with the steel plant. The BJP is against the decision. We are heading to Delhi on February 14, we will explain the issue to the Central leaders, she added.
