Six surveys…. yes… six surveys…. That is the number of surveys that Chief Minister and TRS chief KCR had got done so far on Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency bypoll. KCR, who is very serious about winning the bypoll at any cost, is said to be pulling all stops. A victory in Nagarjunasagar is a must because it alone can stem the tide of anti-incumbency especially after the back-to=back debacles in Dubbak and the GHMC.
Initial surveys have shown an edge to the Congress, especially if Jana Reddy is the candidate. The BJP too was shown as rising in popularity. But, later surveys reportedly showed that the BJP popularity has plateaued. Also, the positivity for the TRS has gone up. The recent survey, the TRS sources say, has shown a ten percentage point advantage for the TRS. Sources said that the CM has identified the lacunae in the TRS strategy and is trying to bridge the gaps. He has appointed one incharge for each mandal in the constituency and is directly calling up the MLAs to take stock of the situation. This is the strategy he had adopted for Huzurnagar bypolls. The same strategy has now been put in place.
KCR has reportedly asked the incharges to stay put in the respective areas allocated to them and has asked them to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Minister Jagadeesh Reddy is being made the overall incharge of the election campaign in Nagarjunasagar.
