In the meeting chaired with Chief Ministers of the states in India over Coronavirus spread in the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said vaccine wastage is taking place in AP, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh and expressed his dissatisfaction over this.
Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender responded to Union Government’s claims on vaccine wastage. The Minister said, no Coronavirus vaccine wastage is taking place in the state.
According to the media reports, Etela Rajender said, there is no truth in the news of vaccine wastage and reportedly said, the state has been carrying out the vaccination drive with utmost perfection.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the meeting with CMs said, more than 10 percent of vaccines are being wasted in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh and directed the states to take a special focus on vaccine wastage and the required measures to bring down the wastage.
Looking at the infections in the state, Telangana’s toll rose to 3,01,769 after 247 new infections were reported. So far, 1,659 patients breathed their last battling the respiratory disease. With 158 new recoveries, total recoveries mounted to 2,98,009.
