Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam has been in the making for a long time now. Starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, the film is on the verge of completion and the Baahubali actor has spent close to three and half years on this project.
The latest update is that the Zee network has approached the makers of the film offering a hefty amount to lock a deal for the hybrid release.
We know Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’ has become the first big film to opt for a hybrid release. The film premiered last month on Zee Plex (pay-for-view app) and ZEE5, an OTT Platform, and also got released overseas in movie theatres.
Now, the same deal has been offered for Radhe Shyam team. However, it is not known what the makers are planning as the film cannot make it to theatres on the announced release date of July 30, 2021.
If the makers lock the deal, the film will have Pay Per View for domestic release and theatrical release in all Overseas markets. The main drawback of hybrid release is once the film is on air, the DVD print will be uploaded to piracy websites within no time and this surely affects the theatrical release overseas.
As per our sources, along with Sai Dharam Tej’s Republic, three other medium budgets films are getting the same offer lately.
