Congress past and future president Rahul Gandhi suddenly woke up on Tuesday and unfollowed a large number of journalists considered excessively supportive of the Congress Party. Among those unfollowed are renowned anti-BjP journalists Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Pallavi Ghosh and Nidhi Razdan. He has also unfollowed anti-BJP fake news buster Pratik Sinha.
A total of 50 persons, including several senior journalists, fake news busters, commentators and IT experts have been unfollowed. No reason was given for unfollowing these leaders. There is shock and dismay among Congress-supporting journalists as to why Rahul Gandhi unfollowed them. Some like Pallavi Ghosh still backed Rahul Gandhi, while some like Barkha Dutt were appalled by Rahul’s decision.
Interestingly, several persons, who are part of Rahul’s IT team were also unfollowed. Nikhil Alwa, who handles Rahul’s Twitter handle was both unfollowed and removed. His staff Kaushal Vidyarthi and Baiju were also unfollowed. But here is something that only Rahul can. He is still following Tarun Gogoi and Ahmed Patel. Why should there be a problem with it? Both are long dead.
