As vaccinating people against the Covid-19 is the only way to beat the virus, the union government launched a nationwide vaccination drive earlier in January this year. Six months after the drive was started, more than 38 crore beneficiaries were vaccinated in the country.
The Centre announced the first death after the Covid vaccination. A 68-year-old man became the first person in the country to pass away due to the Covid019 vaccine. The person died due to anaphylaxis.
In the report, the Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) committee said, the 68-year-old person, who received the vaccination died on the 8th of March this year.
The report was compiled after assessing 31 cases. While 18 cases had no connections with the vaccines, 7 cases were termed unspecified. Three cases have connections with the vaccines, and two and one case were termed unclassified and anxiety-related respectively.
Out of the three Covid related cases, one person breathed his last, while the two other people have managed to beat the virus. The two people were administered the vaccine earlier in January this year.
In the report, the government panel has also said that people who receive the vaccine doses develop allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
