The 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries was held recently. Twelve directors, who take care of various wings of the Reliance Group have attended the meeting.
The Meeting started with the attendees of the meeting paying tributes to the people, who lost their lives due to the ongoing Covid crisis. After paying tributes, Chief Managing Director Mukesh Ambani addressed the meeting.
Mukesh Ambani expressed his happiness over the humanitarian work done by the company during the pandemic time. We are happy with the services offered by the company over the past one year, he said,
Over the last ten years, we had invested $90bn in creating substantial wealth for the country and the value for the shareholders of the company. In the coming ten years, the company has the capacity to attract investments worth over $200bn, Mr. Ambani maintained.
During the meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of affordable 5G mobile sets, JIOPHONE NEXT, which will be opened for sales from the 10th of September, on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. He expressed his happiness over collaboration with Google and Jio to launch the 5G sets.
The 5G set price is yet to be announced. JIOPHONE NEXT runs on the Android platform. Mukesh Ambani said the new phone will play a big role in the transition to 4G from the 2G network.
