The Covid-19 pandemic has given no other option for filmmakers than opting for direct OTT releases. When the big screens are shut down due to lockdown, most of the medium budget films in Telugu opted for digital release since March 2020.
Now, it is heard that two movies of Venkatesh Daggubati are all set for OTT release. As per reports, Venkatesh’s Drishyam 2 and Narappa are rumoured to be sold to digital streaming platforms for the OTT release.
However, this decision made fans upset and one fan from Warragal demonstrated his anger through a hunger strike for one day. Some fans are firing on producer Suresh Babu as he is the one to decide over Venkatesh’s film releases.
Maybe the ace producer thought that even if theatres get back to normal soon, both the films of Venky Mama would not recover collections considering the pandemic situations. But die-hard fans of Venkatesh are taking to social media and revolting against the actor for premiering both the films on OTT platforms.
