YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy has been trying his best to get Narasapuram MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju dismissed from the Lok Sabha. He has been warning Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that he would call for a freezing of the house, if necessary action wasn’t taken on the request. Om Birla has finally responded today, saying that a call on the matter would be taken in due time, after hearing out the arguments of both sides.
Om Birla said that everyone has the right to protest, but that there’s a procedure for everything, and the same would be followed in RRR’s petition case. This is now making everyone wonder if RRR will even be disqualified from the Lok Sabha in the first place. With the Supreme Court recently giving a clear statement that it cannot interfere with the member disqualifications of either of the two houses (Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha), and that only the speakers of those respective houses hold the power, Vijayasai Reddy and the YSRCP have no other option, but to wait.
RRR has been filing counter responses to the petitions being filed by the members of the YSRCP. It is being said that all the MPs have been one major task by the high command of the YSRCP, and that is to make sure that RRR is disqualified from the Lok Sabha. Hence, they are filing a petition every week. However, given that the speaker has clearly stated that the decision will be taken according to the right procedure, it is now to be seen how long it will take for the speaker to take the decision, and what will happen ultimately.
