As things stand, Sankranthi 2022 will witness a high-octane clash at the box office. Not one or two, but a total of three top-tier films are releasing in theaters next festival season. While Pawan Kalyan and Rana’s Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake will be out on 12th January, Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be releasing in theaters on 13th January. Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam will be hitting the silver screens on 14th January. These three biggies have already locked release dates and the makers have commenced promotions already.

Well, there seems to be too much of Hungama surrounding the Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas starrers. It is tough to predict how the Covid situation will be like during next January. If there are subsequent waves of Covid outbreak, theaters might have to be shut down which would mean that these films can’t hit the silver screens until normalcy is restored.
Another factor is the US market. The overseas rights of all these three films will fetch big bucks and a lot will be at stake. So, the makers will have to also take the Covid situation in the USA into consideration before finalizing the release plans. With so many logistical complications, it is a bit too early to start promoting films and the release dates. As of now, there is a whole lot of unnecessary hungama surrounding the three biggies.
