The theatres have reopened and we are seeing at least three films releasing per each weekend. A lot of notable films tried to impress the audience till date and irrespective of their talk, these films were not able to get good collections. Pundits are claiming that the people are still not enthusiastic to return back to the theatres as they witnessed how severely the second wave spread and affected the people.
This weekend, there were six releases and the biggest of them is ‘Raja Raja Chora’ which was a comic caper which has Sree Vishnu in the lead. Megha Aakash and Sunaina were the heroines in this film which was written and directed by Hasith Goli. This movie got a positive talk right from its first show and reviewers lauded the entertaining content. The film released on Thursday and with a long weekend ahead, many thought that this film would fare well at the box-office.
Friday was ‘Varalakshmi Sukravaram’ which is considered as a very auspicious day by many. There was festive vibe all over and people expected that it will work in favour of ‘Raja Raja Chora’ and other releases. But the collections dipped drastically from Thursday to Friday which left every expert speechless. Some of the shows were cancelled too which is worrying everyone. They are wondering that if this is the case of films with positive response, what is going to be the fate of normal films.
We are going to see films like ‘Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu’, ‘Sridevi Soda Center’ and others releasing next Friday. Let us see what happens in the coming days. ‘Love Story’ is releasing on 10th September and if it becomes successful, a lot of big films may plan their releases. Tollywood is really hoping for things to take a drastic turn so that the situation gets better.
‘RRR’ is releasing on October 13th as per the makers but it may get postponed. If it happens, movies like ‘Akhanda’, ‘Khiladi’ and others will be coming out in October and it will be followed by pan-Indian projects like ‘KGF-2’, ‘Pushpa’ and others. Tollywood is hoping for the corona scare to not happen again and hope it doesn’t come again.
