Top Maoist leader Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna, popularly known as RK who has been the face of the Maoist party in Andhra Pradesh over the years had breathed his last due to illness. Losing the veteran leader is a big loss for the Masist party which is struggling for its existence.
While the Chhattisgarh Police announced that the Maoist leader is no more, a lot of questions were raised on the same development with the Moist party leaders being tight-lipped about the leader passing away.
The Maoist Party had stepped in and confirmed the death of the leader. Besides announcing the news, they have also released the pictures from the last rites of the veteran leader who had decided his life fighting for the interest of the people.
His last rites were performed on the afternoon of Friday at Pamedu-Kondaplli forest villages. The Maoist leaders and the Adivasis attended in large numbers for the rites. While giving info on the time and place of the last rites of the senior leader, the Maoist Party had also released the pictures from the last rites.
Ramakrishna alias RK carries a bounty of Rs 97 lakh. He played a vital role in the peace talks with the then ruling party in Congress in combined Andhra Pradesh. He met with the previous Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy during the peace talks.
