Ram Gopal Varma took part in a TV9 interview today as he debated the ticket prices issue in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh cinematography minister Perni Nani also joined in and took part in the interaction.
In the interaction, Nani questioned “Telugu filmmakers cut good trailers for their films. But once the viewers step into the theatres to watch these films and they don’t like them, their tickets are not refunded. In that case, how can we permit flexible pricing?”
RGV replied “Films are perishable materials. The audience come to watch the film in theatres and enjoy the whole movie watching experience. They are paying for the whole experience. They can’t return their movie watching experience in exchange for the tickets, can they?”
Varma’s counter to Perni Nani is going viral on social media now.
