Young Akkineni hero Naga Chaitanya is showcasing a lot of interest in choosing different scripts lately. He is trying to exhibit his versatility with films that are not just commercial entertainers. He did a superb job in an emotional romantic drama like ‘Love Story’. He did a playboy role in an entertainer like ‘Bangarraju’ which is set in a rural backdrop. He is currently doing ‘Thank You’ under Vikram Kumar’s direction. He also played a key role in Aamir Khan’s prestigious Bollywood project ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. This shows his choice of scripts and there are rumors that he will play the lead in a web series where he gets to play the role of a journalist.
The latest talk in tinsel town suggests that Naga Chaitanya is keen on remaking Ranbir Kapoor’s hit film ‘Tamasha’. This is a romantic drama with a lot of layers and subtexts. It deals with a lot of topics like your inner personality, the masks we put on in our lives, finding out true self, discovering love and others. The film was a decent box office hit in 2015 but it secured a special place in the hearts of movie lovers over the years. Imtiaz Ali’s brilliant writing and direction was supported by AR Rahman’s soulful music. Songs like ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ still haunts music lovers. Deepika Padukone is the female lead in this film and the chemistry between the lead pair is the biggest asset as one could expect.
Ranbir and Deepika who dated previously broke by the time they worked on ‘Tamasha’ but their eye-catching chemistry is what made the film what it was. Naga Chaitanya reportedly wants to remake ‘Tamasha’ in Telugu and is in search of a filmmaker who can do justice to this subject. Since this Bollywood film had a broken-up couple coming together onscreen, people are curious to find out who the heroine in the Telugu version would be.
Let us wait and see if Chaitanya goes ahead with ‘Tamasha’ remake or not. Naga Chaitanya made his debut with ‘Josh’ and went on to act in hit films like ‘Ye Maya Chesave’, ‘100% Love’, ‘Raarandoi Veduka Chudham’, ‘Majili’, ‘Manam’ and a few others.
