As a development that no one would have expected, an investigating officer from the premier investigating agency Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI), who is dealing with the murder case of the former Lok Sabha member has been booked by the cops.
According to the information, the case has been booked on the grounds of harassing a suspect and putting pressure on the suspect to give a statement as per his directions. The case was registered to go by the orders issued by a local court.
It is said that, hearing a petition that was filed by a suspect who alleged that the investigation officer is harassing him and pressuring him to give his statement as asked by the officer.
After reportedly meeting Kadapa’s additional superintendent of police against the alleged harassment he has been facing from the CBI officer, he had knocked on the doors of the local court in Kadapa. Satisfied with the arguments of the petitioner, the local court had directed the local police to arrest the CBI officer.
Having registered a criminal case against the CBI officer, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Police have arrested the officer and the questioning is going on. More details in the development are awaited.
Earlier, YS Viveka’s driver Dastagiri had turned approver in the case and even recorded his statement in the court. As he mentioned big names in connection with the case as the suspects, the CBI had reportedly arranged security at Dastagiri’s residence.
Challenging this, a few suspects have approached the local court and High Court. In the petition, they have raised their objections over Dastagiri turning approver and alleged that he did this on the instructions he received from others. However, their petitions were rejected by the courts.
