Paddy Procurement: Revanth comes to the rescue of Rahul Gandhi!

The paddy procurement in Telangana became a big issue and the politics are now revolving around the sensitive issue. The burning issue had made the Telangana government and Union government lock horns with each other. While the Union government made it clear that it cannot buy more paddy, the TRS is alleging that the Centre is playing with the sentiments of the farmers of the state.

The TRS had upped the game in attacking the Union government on the paddy procurement issue. As both parties were attacking each other, the grand old Congress party had entered the scene and stood in solidarity with the farmers. The Telangana wing of the Congress party is actively supporting the farmers in this paddy procurement issue.

Former Congress chief and MP Rahul Gandhi took to microblogging site Twitter to slam the BJP and TRS. In his tweet, Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi alleged that both parties are doing politics with the farmers’ issues.

He had demanded that the government should purchase every single grain. Having said that the Congress MP had maintained that the party will fight for the farmers in the state till the last grain is purchased.

TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha gave a fitting reply to Rahul Gandhi over his fight. She said that the TRS party leaders are fighting for the issue and urged Rahul Gandhi to join the TRS leaders in the fight. Drawing a comparison between the paddy procurement from Telangana and other states like Punjab and Haryana, Kavitha said no such difference should be shown and asked Rahul Gandhi to take up the cause if his intentions are true.

With Kavitha targeting Rahul Gandhi, firebrand politician Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) Chief Revanth Reddy came to the rescue of the Gandhi scion and schooled Kavitha on the issue. On the same occasion, Revanth Reddy took a dig at the TRS fight.

Taking a dig at the fight carried out by the TRS MPs, Revanth Reddy said that the MPs are not doing any fight, but they are doing timepass in the Central Hall.

Revanth Reddy reminded Kavitha that CM KCR had signed an agreement that boiled rice will be given to the Food Corporation of India and asked if she had forgotten how this had affected the farmers in the state.
