Mega Powerstar Ram Charan is in no way attached to the recent Hindi release ‘Jersey’ featuring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. But sources say that he is not at all happy with the mixed response ‘Jersey’ managed to get. The reason behind his unhappiness is reportedly the film’s director Gautham Thinnanuri.
As we know, Gautham made ‘Jersey’ in Telugu with Natural star Nani as the lead. The film was heavily praised by everyone and it received two National Awards too. It is one of the most heart-touching movies made in Tollywood in recent times. The team decided to remake it in Hindi and there were decent expectations on this movie.
After a lot of postponements, the film was finally released on 22nd April. Though some of the critics praised Gautham’s work and the soul in this movie, a lot of people criticized the slow narration and felt that it was not good as the original. The film received a mixed response and trade pundits claim that it may get washed away in the storm created by ‘KGF Chapter 2’ at the Indian box office.
Shahid walked away with all the plaudits but Gautham Thinnanuri did not get the desired result. Ram Charan has announced a project with the ‘Jersey’ director under UV Creations banner. Charan is a pan-Indian hero now and he needs a director who has good recognition in the Hindi market as well. He is making a film with a legendary director like Shankar at the moment and predicted Gautham to get a good image after ‘Jersey’. But his predictions have gone wrong. Charan and Gautham’s project may start by the end of this year.
