Is YSRCP boss and AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy taking a leaf out of TRS boss KCR’s copybook tactic? Is he planning to announce his candidates for the 2024 elections at least one year in advance like KCR did in 2018? Those tracking politics in the Telugu states say yes. They claim that Jagan is adopting the same tactics that KCR has adopted.
YS Jagan is said to be worried over the rising dissensions and groupism in the YSRCP. He is said to be perturbed by the dissidence from Kothapalli Subbarayudu and MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju in Narsapur. Similarly, MLAs Vasupalli Ganesh and Sudhakar are at loggerheads in Vizag. Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and former minister Anil KumarYadav are sworn enemies in Nellore.
In Gannavaram assembly constituency, the party is divided between three groups. One group is led by TDP-turned-YSRCP MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The other two are led by Yarlagadda Venkat Rao and Dutta Ramachandra Rao.Jagan is worried that these dissidences could affect the prospects of the party.
Hence Jagan is said to be seriously considering announcing the candidates one year in advance. It would help the candidate in doing the spade work properly. More importantly, the nominees will have ample time to iron out differences by holding discussions with the rebels. This would also give the candidates time to plan their strategies and woo the voters. If sources are to be believed, Jagan is likely to announce his candidates well in advance.
