The state of the Congress Party is best understood by the condition of its YouTube Channel. The party’s YouTube channel ‘ Indian National Congress’ has been deleted. It took hours for the party leaders to realise that the YouTube channel was not visible in the searches of the YouTube. This sent alarm bells ringing in the IT cell of the party.
The party hurriedly put out a message on Twitter saying “Hi, Our YouTube channel – ‘Indian National Congress’ has been deleted. We are fixing it and have been in touch with Google/YouTube teams. We are investigating what caused this – a technical glitch or sabotage. Hope to be back soon.” The party said that it has got in touch with the Google people and that it hopes the issue would be resolved soon.
The party is not sure whether it’s a technical issue or a sabotage by persons inimical to the Congress Party. The party merely said investigations were on. Earlier too, the social media handles of the party developed technical glitches. By evening the site was back on tracks and began streaming videos. The party scheduled the live-streaming of a press conference by Prof. Gaurav Vallabh at 12 noon on Thursday.
The Congress YouTube channel has 20 lakh subscribers and was created in August 2012. Due to the glitch, its views dropped from 9.27 K on Tuesday to 3.87 K on Wednesday. Social Media analysis site Social Blade placed the Congress youtube channel at Rank no 711.
