Last year, it was ‘Akhanda’ and ‘Pushpa’ who took the box office by storm in December. But there are no big releases towards the year ending this time. A lot of small films and dubbing movies are testing their luck at the box office this month. It has been proved many times before that the audience love movies with good concepts even though there are no big star heroes in it.
There are a few interesting releases this weekend. On 9th December, Tamannaah and Satyadev’s ‘Gurtunda Seethakalam’ is getting released and along with it, there are a few other releases like ‘Prema Desam’, ‘Aakrosam’, ‘Cheppalani Vundi’, ‘Panchatantram’, ‘Mukha Chitram’ and ‘Civil Engineer’. As we already know, Satyadev’s movie is a remake of the Kannada film ‘Love Mocktail’.
Even ‘Prema Desam’ is a remake of a successful Kannada remake. These two movies are arriving this weekend with good concepts and they are having a positive buzz around them. On top of these two, ‘Civil Engineer’ is a dubbed version of a Kannada film with the same name. Insiders say that it is relatable to the Telugu audience as well. It looks like there are a few films with Kannada connects this weekend.
After the humongous success of ‘KGF’, the status of the Kannada film industry has grown immensely. Previously, only Tamil films used to get dubbed in Telugu but a lot of Kannada films or their remakes are coming into Tollywood nowadays. Let us see how they impress the audience this weekend.
