Promotions have become a very important part of the movie business in the past few years. No matter how big of a star you are, generating buzz before the release with aggressive promotions has become mandatory and failure to do so is leading to a lot of problems. We have seen many senior heroes who ignored promotions for their films and just gave a couple of interviews in the last minute. This led to those films failing to get good numbers at the box office.
Megastar Chiranjeevi did the same for ‘Acharya’ and ‘Godfather’. Barring the last few days, both these films were not promoted at all. All the team did was organize an event and arrange a few interviews apart releasing songs and trailer. We all know that ‘Acharya’ ended up as a disaster and ‘Godfather’ turned out to be a loss venture despite a decent talk in the festive season.
The legendary hero is now making sure that the same does not happen with ‘Waltair Veerayya’ which is releasing during the Sankranti season. The movie is going to be a mass entertainer and it is going to compete with Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ and Vijay’s ‘Varasudu’. Chiru realized that publicity is very important and decided to take matters into his own hands. Apart from the regular release of posters, character teasers and the first song, he is giving regular updates on the movie.
He uploaded a few photos about their foreign schedule from the flight and he released a special video that was filmed in Les Gets. Megastar took the visuals himself and uploaded it on his Instagram account and hyped up his fans regarding the next song. He even leaked a small portion of the song title ‘Nuvvu Sridevi’. This video has gone viral and proves that Chiru is trying to appeal to the younger audience as well apart from his core fanbase. It is great to see this change and let us hope it continues further.
