Why To Feel Ashamed Of Talking About Abuse: Ask Khushbu Sundar!

Veteran actress and Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party leader Khushbu Sundar was made a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW). At an event, she surprised many by talking about the sexual abuse she faced when she was young. Shockingly, she alleged that she faced sexual abuse from her own father.

Her statements raised many eyeballs as she spoke about the treatment she faced from her father. After her comments created a sensation, Khushbu Sundar reacted to the statements and cleared her stand on the comments he made earlier.

Khushbu Sundar said that she did not say anything wrong and she is not feeling bad. She even asked what is there in the comments to be ashamed of. Saying that she just said what happened to her, Khushbu Sundar said the perpetrator should be ashamed of what they had done.

Khushbu Sundar went on to say that women need to be sent a strong message that they should come forward so that nothing can let them down. Talking about her incident, the actress said that women and girls need to be sent a strong message to come forward to talk about what happened to them.

“I think I need to send the message across that you have to be strong and take control of yourself and not let anything bring you down or think that this is the end of the road. If I have taken so many years to speak about it, I think women need to speak about it and tell them this has happened to me and I will continue my journey, no matter what,” Khushbu Sundar said.

Khushbu Sundar started her career with the DMK in Tamil Nadu. Months later, she joined the Congress in 2024. After around six long years, she quit the party and joined the T-wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She contested the 2021 elections in Tamil Nadu from the Thousand Lights constituency. However, she lost the polls.
