Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar. The film is set to be released on April 14th, on a pan-Indian scale, in five languages. The actress was promoting her film in Mumbai today and was accompanied by the director, and leading man Dev Mohan as well.
Dev Mohan is a Malayalam actor who will be making his Telugu debut with the film. Talking about the film, Samantha said that playing Shakuntala in the film was a childhood dream come true for her, as the story of Shakuntala is like a fairytale. She said that whenever she felt said as a child, she used to watch Disney movies, which she continues to do today, and expressed confidence that everyone will feel the same way about Shakuntala when they watch it. She said that everyone will be bewitched by the movie.
About director Gunasekhar, Samantha said that he’s a feminist, who believes in the power of women and writes his women characters in a strong way. The actress had great things to say about Allu Arha, Allu Arjun’s daughter, who will be seen as Prince Bharata, the son of Shakuntala and King Dushyant. She said everyone will be stunned with Arha’s performance in the movie. Samantha also said that Allu Arjun never interferes in Arha’s affairs, and it is going to be a new beginning for Arha from here.
