The Kerala Story: Opposition Govts Ban,BJP Govts Makes Tax Free!

The Kerala Story landed in a big controversy even before its release and after its release political controversy was kickstarted. Thanks to politics, we are seeing shocking developments. The film was released last week. While the film is getting one kind of treatment in some states, contrast treatment is relevant in other states.

The state governments in non-BJP-ruled states Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal took one decision on the film that is based on conversions and terrorism. BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand took a contrasting decision. Coming to Telangana, state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay watched the film along with other leaders.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is going to watch the film along with his cabinet in Lucknow on the 12th of this month. But the opposition parties are alleging that the film would trigger unrest in the society. West Bengal state completely banned the film while the film is not showing in multiplexes in Tamil Nadu. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is alleging that planning is underway to make Bengal Files on the lines of The Kashmir Files and the BJP is funding this.

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri came into the picture and said that he sent legal notices to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her statements. While non-Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states are imposing restrictions on the film. Contrasting to this, three BJP-ruled states announced tax exemption to The Kerala Story.

The Producers Guild did not like the ban imposed on the film by the West Bengal Chief Minister. Expressing dissatisfaction over this, the body said that except for the Sensor board, no other has the power to stop the release of the film. It looks like we would see more political controversies around the film.
