Superstar’s Strong Allegations On Making Propaganda Films!

Of late, we are hearing a lot of propaganda and agenda-driven films. It all started with The Kashmir Files. When the film was released, the opposition parties and many activists said that the film is propaganda. We have seen how the opposition parties lashed out at the ruling BJP for supporting The Kashmir Files.

The Kerala Story is the current sensation in the country. While a few non-BJP-ruled states banned the film, it was made tax-free in the states where the Bharatiya Janata Party is in power. A lot of debates and discussions are going on about the film now.

Amid this, a YouTube channel reportedly leveled serious allegations on a Malayalam Superstar that he was asked to pay a big amount by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for making propaganda films. These allegations raised many eyeballs as the funds for the film were reportedly received from the Middle East.

The Superstar who was blamed by a YouTube channel named Marunadan Malayali is none other than famous actor-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran. As the ED reportedly found that funds were received to make the films, the central agency directed him to pay as much as Rs 25 crores.

The news went to the notice of Prithviraj Sukumaran and he gave a strong response to this. Saying that the allegations leveled against him are defamatory, the Superstar said that he did not pay any amount and people cannot push anything in the name of news.

Saying that he usually ignores such claims and allegations, the Superstar said that there is a limit to propagating lies in the name of news. He also added that he will be filing civil and criminal defamation charges against people who are responsible for making such allegations.

“I usually tend to ignore these because terms like “ethical journalism” are fast becoming redundant in the times we live in. But there is a limit to propagating absolute lies in the name of “news”. This is a fight I intend to see through to the end. Filing civil and criminal defamation charges. PS: For those of you who are still wondering – NO, I haven’t paid any fines whatsoever,” Prithviraj Sukumaran said in his post made on Instagram.
