Every month, we see 3-4 notable films hitting the screens. Starting from small movies to pan-Indian flicks, one or the other movie arrives to entertain the audience. In the same manner, a lot of movies arrived in theatres during August. It started with ‘BRO’ featuring Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej. Though the movie was released on 28th July, the movie’s Hungama went till the end of August first week.

Though the movie did not get a positive response, it collected decently. The buyers did not face huge losses but they did not gain huge profits either. It was an okay film. Megastar Chiranjeevi arrived with ‘Bholaa Shankar’ and it turned out to be one of his biggest disasters. The movie ended up in huge losses and Anil Sunkara along with the buyers were seriously affected by this flick. The collections dropped after the very first day which speaks volumes about the movie’s disastrous result.

Superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘Jailer’ arrived on the same weekend and turned out to be a blockbuster. It is getting decent collections even now and it is running towards the 100 crores mark in Telugu states. The movie brought smiles to the faces of Telugu distributors. After this film, Sohail’s ‘Mr Pregnant’ too got its investment back. Though many said that the content was interesting, it failed to bring the audience towards the theatres. The producer however is in the safe zone.

Mega family hero Varun Tej arrived with ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna’ and it ended up being a huge failure. Insiders say that the movie will not recover at least one-third of its investment. It is expected to become the biggest disaster in Varun Tej’s career. Dulquer Salman’s ‘King Of Kotha’ too failed badly at the box office.
