Hyderabad, India – Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for his 14th film, a period action drama titled “Ranabhaali.” The project reunites him with director Rahul Sankrityan, who made his directorial debut with “Taxiwaala” starring Deverakonda.
Deverakonda is reportedly set to play a double role in the film, portraying both a father and son. The story is said to be set between 1854 and 1878, with the tagline “The legend of the cursed land” hinting at a potentially intriguing historical backdrop.
Mythri Movie Makers, known for producing Deverakonda’s films “Dear Comrade” and “Khushi,” will be backing “Ranabhaali.” The film’s budget is estimated to be around ₹100 crore, signifying a high-production project.
Reports suggest that Rashmika Mandanna, who has previously collaborated with Deverakonda in successful films, might be roped in as the female lead. However, official confirmation regarding the casting is awaited.
Deverakonda is currently busy shooting for a cop drama directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri (“Jersey”). “Ranabhaali” will reportedly commence filming after the completion of this ongoing project.
This announcement adds to Deverakonda’s already packed schedule. He is also said to be starting work soon on another project with director Ravi Kiran Kola, known for his work on “Raja Vaaru Ranigaaru.”
With the combination of a talented director, a unique double-role premise, and a potentially grand historical setting, “Ranabhaali” has already generated significant buzz among fans. Further details from the makers are awaited with anticipation.
