Versatile filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has clarified the speculation surrounding his highly anticipated project with Tamil superstar Suriya, tentatively titled Suriya 44. While fans had been buzzing with theories about Suriya playing an anti-hero or a gangster, Subbaraj has now put those rumors to rest.
Subbaraj shared, “If I do a movie, they decide it’s a gangster movie. But Suriya 44 is not. The film’s core is a love story, and when I got the opportunity to work with Suriya and Pooja Hegde, I was excited.”
Karthik emphasized that while the movie features significant action sequences, it centers around romance, steering away from the expected gangster theme.
The film’s mysterious teasers caused confusion, but with Subbaraj’s clarification, fans can now anticipate a fresh take on a love story from the talented filmmaker, featuring Suriya in a new light.
On the other hand, Suriya is currently waiting for the release of his next film titled Kanguva, directed by Siva.
