There is a classic example of perception.. mind you.. it is very boring too. ‘It is a glass filled with water to its half capacity’. I will not explain it once again. Similarly there has been a debate going on in the social media ever since Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut made remarks on Nepotism (favouring near and dear.. particularly speaking favouring relatives). She said that Bollywood is full of nepotism and film maker Karan Johar is the flag-bearer of Nepotism.
Ever since Kangana made nepotism remarks, it has become a huge controversy and everybody started talking about it and taking sides. In a recent development, Anushka Sharma was asked by journalists that she has ever faced nepotism? Anushka replied that “First of all, every actor has her own journey in Bollywood. Moreover, if you are good at your work, people will show interest to collaborate with you, irrespective of your background.”. She also added that “Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and all of us were not from the industry..and being an outsider I never faced nepotism”.
It’s tough to make a general statement that Bollywood is full of nepotism. Even though stars like Salman, Aamir, Hrithik Rohsan came from the filmy background.. there are other bunch of stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar.. who raised to the top with their sheer hardwork and determination….and without any background.
