AB Venkateswara Rao: IAS Who Got Relief after 2 Long Years!

It’s been three years since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of the state. In the same period, Jagan has been leaving his mark with flagship schemes and bringing ideas like Volunteer systems and others. Not just this, his actions also raise doubt if he doesn’t want to continue what is connected with Chandrababu Naidu.

Firstly, Jagan said no to Amaravathi as capital and proposed a three capital idea saying that the development should be decentralized. Despite the farmers protesting, Jagan did not change his mind. Next comes Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s episode.

Former IAS officer and ex-State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had to do a long legal battle to get appointed as SEC again. He had moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court and Supreme Court as well to get the relief.

Senior Indian Police Service(IPS) officer and former AP Intelligence Chief A.B. Venkateswara Rao is another case on the list. Alleging that he played a big role when the previous Andhra Pradesh government purchased equipment, he was suspended from the office. He has been under suspension for more than two years.

Now AB Venkateswara Rao got a big relief as the Supreme Court had canceled his suspension. Having canceled the orders, the Supreme Court said that, the suspension should not go on for over two years and sought evidence to show why the suspension is being dragged.’

The Apex Court had also directed the Andhra Pradesh government to lift the suspension and take ABV into service. When the lawyers representing the Andhra Pradesh government sought some more time, the Apex Court said that it’s been more than two years and extra time cannot be granted.

The other day, the Apex Court had sought complete details of evidence on the suspension issue. The Court asked the government to provide the details or else the suspension will be canceled.

The hearing happened on Friday as well. Earlier today, the Supreme Court gave a big relief to ABV. The Country’s top court also said that, from the 7th of February this year, the IAS officer is entitled to all the benefits that come under his cadre.
