Adipurush Director Om Raut Plays Down Covid-19 Impact On Shooting

Marathi filmmaker Om Raut made an impressive debut in Bollywood with Tanhaji. The historical action film traces the life of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare, military assistant of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

After Tanhaji, Om Raut announced magnum opus Adipurush, based on Hindu epic Ramayan, Rebel Star Prabhas in the titular role. Team Adipurush is busy shooting in Mumbai.

Adipurush is being shot when the country, mainly Maharashtra is witnessing a massive surge in Covid-19 infections. Shootings of several big Bollywood films have been called off given the pandemic scare.

In his recent interview with a leading daily, Om Raut opened up on shooting for Adipurush amid Covid-19 scare. Everyone in the team is working hard on the sets and the team is putting all they got, he said.

The team is having a good time shooting for Adipurush, and it feels good when the team has the same goal and the force is channelized to reach the common goal. Om Raut said.

The Mythological film has an ensemble cast of Sail Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, who will be seen in the characters of Ravan and goddess Sita respectively. Adipurush is slated for a theatrical release on August 11, 2022.
