T-Series is one of the biggest music labels in not just India but the entire world. It is the most subscribed channel on YouTube and it releases music in various languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Bengali and many more. Apart from being at the top of the music industry, they are known for bankrolling huge Bollywood movies too. They are produced numerous films till date and has ventured into many other film businesses as well.
Late Gulshan Kumar started T-Series and it is now successfully run by his son Bhushan Kumar. This successful businessman is now facing rape allegations from a woman who claims that Bhushan Kumar raped her in the name of offering her a job in his company. The Bombay High Court refused to quash the FIR which was lodged against Bhushan Kumar.
The bench says, “Merely because parties are consenting does not mean the FIR under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code should be quashed. We have to see the contents of the FIR, the statements recorded to see if the crime was heinous or not. The relationship (in this case) from the contents does not seem consensual. Contents of (consent) affidavit is not sufficient to quash FIR. Generally, under section 376, FIR can be quashed with consent of the complainant. But then that is after the FIR or the affidavit shows that there is a consensual relationship. Here the complainant is only saying she doesn’t want to proceed with the case due to ‘circumstantial misunderstanding'”.
According to the 30-year-old woman who filed the case, Kumar has assaulted her sexually from September 2017 to August 2022 and even made threats as well. As we know, Bhushan Kumar is the producer of Prabhas’ upcoming gigantic movie ‘Adipurush’ and he even co-produced ‘Radhe Shyam’. He teamed up with Dil Raju and Allu Aravind in producing the Hindi remakes of ‘HIT’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ respectively.
